Seattle Events: July 2017

July 10, 2017 @ 9:48AM

It’s summer in Seattle! With so many fun events happening in and around the city this July, it’s almost overwhelming to keep track of it all, so we’ve handpicked the most interesting events that our customers might enjoy...

July 6-30 - Quota.

We all like to think that art is pure expression, but the truth is that most art has to be compromised or commercialized in some form in order for it to sell (let alone for it to be likable and appreciated). What if it wasn’t that way? What would art look like if the creator didn’t care whether or not it’s likable or sellable? Find out at Quota. It’s free!

July 11 - A Conversation with Attorney General Bob Ferguson

Now famous across the country for his historic block of President Trump’s [first and second] "travel ban," Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson has also pledged to “use every tool at our disposal to ensure that the federal government does not undermine Washington's successful, unified system for regulating recreational and medical marijuana.” In a 1-hour conversation and Q&A, Bob Ferguson will talk about his experience with the immigration case (but we’re sure he’ll answer questions relating to cannabis enforcement if you ask nicely).

July 13 - Blondie + Garbage @ Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery

Legendary pop-rock bands Blondie and Garbage are sharing the stage as part of Chateau Ste. Michelle’s summer concert series!

July 15 - Terpestival

Attend a cannabis competition that rewards Washington recreational growers for their terpene profiles… not just THC content. Learn about terpenes from respected cannabis scientists like Dr. Ethan Russo (who discovered “the entourage effect”) and Dr. Michelle Sexton (who co-authored AHP’s Cannabis Inflorescence Monograph… she literally wrote the book on lab testing weed).

July 16 - Seattle Street Food Festival

Toke up then get your munch on! Bring your whole crew to South Lake Union and check out all the food trucks... with so many delicious options, there’s definitely something for everyone!

July 20 - Vendor Daze: Caviar Gold

If you’ve ever heard a rapper mention “caviar” in a song and wondered what they’re talking about, stop by our store on Thursday, July 20th and meet the folks behind Caviar Gold.

July 20 - The Dope Show or The Green Show

No, Marilyn Manson won’t be performing in Seattle any time soon; “The Dope Show” is a stand-up comedy show where a group of comedians deliver their sets sober, take a short intermission to get baked, then come back and do the rest of their show high as a kite. Better still, most of these comics have never even tried weed before, so this should be an interesting experience! Watch it all go down Laughs Comedy Club in the University District.

If improv comedy if more of your style, there’s another pot-themed comedy show happening the same night! The Atlas Theater in Fremont is having a Green Show where all attendees (and performers) are encouraged to be in high spirits.

July 27 - Vendor Daze: Craft Elixirs

We’ll be hosting the team from Craft Elixirs in our shop after 4pm, and all of their products (including their fantastic vape carts) will be 20% OFF ALL DAY! Come by the shop and get to know the Craft Elixirs crew.

July 27 - Movies at Magnuson Park: Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Come with me, and you’ll be, in a woooorld of pure imagination. Grab your friends, a picnic blanket, and some munchies before catching the outdoor screening of Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory at Magnuson Park. There will also be live acts and several food trucks: Charlie’s Buns n’ Stuff, Buddha Bruddah, Express Mexican Grill, Caramia’s Sweetie Treaties, and Custom Kettle Corn.

Whatever plans you make this month, we hope you’ll visit us beforehand to make your experiences a little more special. Have a happy and safe July, Seattle!
